Biography

Alfred Lee was an influential American Episcopal bishop and religious leader in the 19th century. He served as the Bishop of Delaware from 1841 until his death, overseeing the spiritual and administrative affairs of the diocese during a period of significant growth and social change. Lee was known for his scholarly approach to theology and his efforts to strengthen the institutional foundations of the Episcopal Church in the Mid-Atlantic region.
