Charles Ewing

Biography

Charles Ewing was a Union general and brother of General William Tecumseh Sherman's wife Ellen. He served as an officer in the Western Theater during the American Civil War, participating in campaigns in Tennessee and Georgia. Ewing came from a prominent Ohio family with strong military traditions and maintained close connections to the Sherman-Grant military circle throughout the war.
