Biography

Felix Salm-Salm was a German nobleman and career military officer who immigrated to the United States and joined the Union cause during the Civil War. Commissioned as a captain, he served with distinction in several regiments and gained recognition for his bravery and military expertise. After the war, Salm-Salm remained in America for several years before returning to Europe, where he continued his military career and became involved in various political causes.
