Biography
George Forsyth was a Union Army officer who gained prominence during the American Civil War. He served as a cavalry officer and aide-de-camp to General Philip Sheridan, participating in major campaigns in Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. After the war, Forsyth remained in the military and was involved in frontier operations, eventually retiring with the rank of general.
