James Whitmore

Biography

James Whitmore was a merchant in Richmond, Virginia during the post-Civil War era. He operated a general store on Broad Street from 1882 until his retirement in 1915. He was known in the community for his charitable work and served on the Richmond City Council from 1898 to 1906.
