Jenny Lind, known as the 'Swedish Nightingale,' was one of the most celebrated opera singers of the 19th century. Born in Stockholm, she achieved international fame for her soprano voice and dramatic performances in major European opera houses. In 1850, she embarked on a triumphant American tour managed by P.T. Barnum, captivating audiences and becoming a cultural icon in the United States before retiring from public performance in her later years.
