L.Q.C. Lamar

The Honorable Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar was a prominent American statesman, lawyer, and diplomat who played a significant role in post-Reconstruction politics. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, representing Mississippi, and later held the position of Secretary of the Interior under President Grover Cleveland. Lamar was known for his efforts to promote reconciliation between North and South following the Civil War and for his advocacy of civil service reform.
