Phil Sheridan

General Philip Sheridan was one of the most celebrated Union commanders of the American Civil War, rising to prominence as the commander of the Army of the Potomac's cavalry corps before eventually commanding all Union armies in the Eastern Theater. Known for his aggressive pursuit of Confederate forces and his strategic innovations in cavalry warfare, Sheridan became a national hero. After the war, he served as commanding general of the United States Army and played a significant role in Reconstruction policies.
