R.B. Rhett

Biography

R.B. Rhett Jr. was a South Carolina political figure and son of the prominent secessionist Robert Barnwell Rhett. He inherited his father's strong states' rights convictions and was active in South Carolina politics during the antebellum and Civil War periods. The Rhett family was instrumental in the nullification crisis and later secession movements in South Carolina.
